Kinds of Sentences



Declarative sentence- tells something. It ends with a period.
Examples:

  2. We have learned all about homonyms.
  3. My mother is thirty years old.
  4. The day seems rainy.
  5. My doctor told me to take these vitamins.
Interrogative Sentenceasks a question. Some of the words used to begin asking sentences are: Who, What, When, Why, and How. It ends with a question.

  4. Why are you sad?
  5. Where do you live
  6. Who is your best friend?

Imperative/Commanding Sentencecommands. It ends with a period.

Requesting Sentenceexpress a request. It ends with a period.
