Kinds of Sentences



Declarative sentence- tells something. It ends with a period.
Examples:
  1. Avilon Zoo is located in Rizal Province.
  2. We have learned all about homonyms.
  3. My mother is thirty years old.
  4. The day seems rainy.
  5. My doctor told me to take these vitamins.
Interrogative Sentence – asks a question. Some of the words used to begin asking sentences are: Who, What, When, Why, and How. It ends with a question.
Examples:
  1. What can you say about that?
  2. How is your baby brother?
  3. When will Jeanette arrive?
  4. Why are you sad?
  5. Where do you live
  6. Who is your best friend?
  7. Why do you believe that?
  8. Did you solve the puzzle yet?
Imperative/Commanding Sentence – commands. It ends with a period.
Examples:
  1. Take tour seats.
  2. Stop talking.
  3. Write your answer.
  4. Turn off your cellular phones.
  5. Do not pick flower.
  6. Go.
  7. Bring these books tomorrow.
  8. Came back and take all your gifts.
  9. Close the window and lock the doors.
  10. Ask your mother about the project.
  11. Finish your meal before you play.
  12. Go to your bedroom now.
  13. Give this gift to your father.
  14. Keep your toys in the cabinet.
  15. Ask Doris for the recipe.
  16. Ann, hand me your coat.
Requesting Sentence – express a request. It ends with a period.
Examples:
  1. Kindly take your seats.
  2. Please, stop talking
  3. kindly write your answer on a paper
  4. Please, pass your papers
  5. Please, return the slip.
  6. Please, bring these books tomorrow.
  7. Please, came back and take all your gifts.
  8. Please, close the window and lock the doors.
  9. Please, ask your mother about the project.
  10. Please, finish your meal before you play.
  11. Please, go to your bedroom now.
  12. Please, give this gift to your father.
  13. Please, keep your toys in the cabinet.
  14. Please, accept keep my apology.
  15. Please, help me carry the books.
Exclamatory sentence- expresses a strong feeling. It ends with an exclamation point.
Examples:
  1. Oops, be careful!
  2. Fire! Fire! Call the fire station.
  3. Surprise! Happy birthday!
  4. Look! A big butterfly!
  5. I am the winner!
  6. Wow! You won one million pesos!
  7. Congratulations to you!
  8. That was an excellent performance!
  9. Very good! You got the correct answer!
  10. Your face is frightening the baby!
  11. My shoes are on fire!
